What is offset printing?
Offset printing is an indirect printing system in which the plate is partially wetted with water that repels grease ink. Four color inks, CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) are used to print in this method. It uses liquid ink, metal plates and a complex machinery of gears and rollers to transfer from ink to paper. When we need to print large copies of brochures, magazines, newspapers, stickers we choose Offset printing. The machines that are used in this type of printing work with rollers. Initially, the so-called “plates” are created, which are usually made of aluminum and contain the information of the document or image to be printed. Said plates are first passed through a cylinder with water and then impregnated in another cylinder with an oily ink leaving the parts to be coated and the rest not. The cylinder that carries the iron is joined to the rubber blanket or cylinder and by pressure the image passes to the paper. One of the biggest advantages of this type of printing is that you can make prints in many materials such as plastic, metal, fabric, paper … thanks to the rubber cylinder that is so flexible adapts to all surfaces. The result of printing is a file of great definition and quality.
What is digital printing?
The Digital Printing is very economical when it comes to smaller print runs and is most often used in signage, cheap flyers, and business cards wedding… Although it may be two systems of digital printing, inkjet and laser printing is more common to use print laser. The printing process is based on machines that use cartridges or toner that are loaded with dust or ink and that print an image on a paper by means of a beam of light (laser) through an electrostatic current. The cost of this type of printing is usually lower in costs since it is not necessary to manufacture the plates or matrices for each job. In working days this technique is also advantageous since it does not need waiting time for the drying of the inks. Visit at https://www.mandreel.com
